User Ratings and Reviews
4 Stars Sky Golf SG5 Temporary Cart Mount
Overall a fair value; however, take a good look at the clamp and note that the top portion has no base, just a screw and the bottom has a clamp. I took a clamp off another unit and am very satisfied; however, I doubt that the mount as sold is very solid. The holder for the SG5 is a perfect fit and after modification the unit works great. Adding an inexpensive clamp to the top portion of the unit would change a fair unit to an outstanding unit. Recommend with some reservations.
5 Stars Easy access
Provides easy access for both riders for yardages and other SkyCaddie information without one person or the other having to ask. Easy to mount on cart. Just have to remember to remove at the end of the round if not attached to your own personal cart. Love it.
5 Stars Easy to use
My wife is my golf partner and we are now able to view the course on our Sky Caddie without having to unclip it from my belt. We love it. We found it at twice as much at another local sporting goods store.
5 Stars Good Mounting Device
The mount allows the user to position and mount the Garmin SG5 GPS in a position where it is both viewable and has clear sky access for satelite reception. This mount is great when traveling, for use on daily usage golf carts.
4 Stars Solid Product that performs as advertised
It may seem like a small thing. But, when correctly installed, this is a solid mount.
The Temporary Cart Mount securely cradles the Sky Caddy SG5 and provides a high level of confidence that your considerable investment in the SkyCaddy won’t go flying out of the cart and onto the cart path with the turns and bumps we all face as we drive the carts from hole to hole.
Depending on the way you configure the bracket itself will determine how much vibration and jostling is delivered to the unit itself.
The only drawback that I have experienced is that the mounting clamp is not large enough to allow you to mount the bracket to the top of the golf cart’s dashboard. I would have liked the SkyCaddy to be centered between the driver and passenger on the cart in order to allow both golfers to see yardages and hazards easily.
But, all things considered, it’s a worthwhile investment.
